Arts are the way in which we express our creativity, perspective and feelings about the world, through music, dance and drama.
Our curriculum gives pupils the opportunity to experience arts from around the world, from different cultures and periods of history. Pupils respond to what they have seen or heard and develop new skills through self-expression. We also give extra-curricular opportunities for pupils to develop their skills. Our choir meets weekly and regularly performs at different events. Every year we perform a pantomime with children from Key Stage 2 auditioning for their parts.
As well as developing specific skills in drama and music these activities also help the pupils to develop confidence, practise communication skills and aspire to be part of something successful as part of a team. We hold other events throughout the year such as art exhibitions, Easter and Christmas performances, local artist visits performing at dance competitions.
