Bulwell St Mary's Primary and Nursery School-Change of School Category from Voluntary Controlled to Voluntary Aided.

Notice is given in accordance with section 19(3) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that The Governing Body of Bulwell St Mary's Primary and Nursery School intends to make a prescribed alteration to Bulwell St Mary's Primary and Nursery School a Voluntary Controlled School at Ragdale Road Bulwell Nottingham Nottinghamshire NG6 8GQ from 24 May 2014.

The Governing Body of Bulwell St Mary's Primary and Nursery School are proposing to seek a change under the regulations published by the Department for Education. Currently the school is Voluntary Controlled and the proposal is for it to become a Voluntary Aided school. Notice will be given in accordance with section 19(3) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 and the Governing Body of Bulwell St Mary's Primary and Nursery School intends to make a prescribed alteration to the school. The Governing Body wishes to convert to Voluntary Aided status to allow it to take on some additional responsibilities relating to buildings, employment, admissions and Religious Education. The change in school status will also allow Bulwell St Mary's to build closer relationships with the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham and local community, whilst remaining a maintained school under the Local Authority.

The proposal will be implemented in a single stage on 24 May 2014.

No new or additional site is necessary to implement this proposal.

The proposal will be implemented wholly by the Governing Body.
